Kwara state government said that it has received N4.3 billion as federal allocation for the month of August. The allocation comprises statutory revenue allocation SRA (gross) of N3.6 billion deductions (loans) of N672.3 million SRA (Net): N2.9 billion Value Added Tax (VAT) of N1.4 billion and exchange gain difference of N13.2 million, the Ministry of Finance said. The cause of the fire outbreak, which occurred on Thursday, was attributed ‘careless attitude that was put-up by one of the owners of the shops’. A Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin on Monday jailed a 34-year-old graduate, Kelvin Monye, for six months over offences bordering on romance scam. Monye was jailed by Justice Mahmood Abdulgafar after having found him guilty of the offences of romance fraud. An Ilorin Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday ordered the remand of one Usman Abdulkareem, who allegedly conspired with an herbalist friend to abduct his wife, in a correctional centre.
