Fire razes shops in Bode Saadu market

A midnight fire on Tuesday razed shops at Bode Saadu Market in Kwara State, destroying valuable properties.

The cause of the outbreak, which occurred at about 01:54 a.m., is yet to be ascertained.

The spokesperson of the Kwara State Fire Service, Hassan Hakeem Adekunle said, “This outbreak started about 01:54hrs of today, when one Mr. Musbaudeen summoned the State Fire Service to the incident through a telephone call.

“If not because of the quick response of the Brigade in eliminating the fire on time, the inferno would have been a great disaster in the community.

“Out of 50 shops in the market vicinity, only 9 shops were affected due to the systematic approach adopted by the fire officers who were present at the scene.”

He quoted the Fire Service boss, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa (CFO), as urging the people of Bode Saadu to always play safely at all times.
