The intervention of the Emir of Ilorin, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari has led to the resolution of the crisis between Adabiyyah and Markaz movements.
The two warring Islamic groups, with followership from across the southwestern states and other parts of the country, both have their roots in Ilorin, as founders of the movements, Shaykh Muhammad Kamaludeen (Adabiyyah) and Shaykh Adam Abdullahi (Markaz) hail from the Kwara capital city.
The Emir’s Personal Assistant, Muritala Raheem disclosed this in a terse message on his Facebook Page on Saturday.
THE INFORMANT247 gathered that the peace meeting was attended by the current heads of both groups – Khaleefatul Adabiyyah and Mudir Markaz.
“The Long time rift between Markaz and Adabiya has finally settled today 6th March 2021 by Maimartaba Sarkin Ilorin. Maimartaba Sarkin Ilorin today call (sic) both leaders of the two Group Khalifa Adabiya and Baba lagege Mudir Markaz without knowing the mission of (sic) their calling while both agreed to hang the sword and work together for the Progress of Islam. May Allah continue to guide and protect the two leaders and the Maimartaba Sarkin Ilorin (sic) long life with sound health amin.Wallahu Yazimuka mina nas amin,” his statement reads.
