NYSC group donates sanitation materials to Kwara environmental agency
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Environmental Protection and Sanitation Community Development Service (CDS) Group has donated sanitary warning signs and branded reflective jackets to the Kwara State Environmental Protection Agency (KWEPA) to support environmental sanitation efforts.
The group made the donation during a visit to the agency’s General Manager, Jide Aina, in Ilorin, where it expressed its willingness to collaborate with KWEPA on environmental protection and proper sanitation across the state.
Aina welcomed the group and reaffirmed the agency’s readiness to work with stakeholders, community groups and other organisations to promote a cleaner and healthier environment.
He said effective collaboration, strategic partnerships and timely exchange of information and ideas were essential to achieving sustainable environmental protection.
The KWEPA general manager noted that environmental cleanliness was a shared responsibility requiring the commitment of government institutions, development partners, stakeholders and residents.
He added that the agency would continue to support initiatives aimed at strengthening institutional capacity and improving environmental services across Kwara State.
Earlier, the CDS group’s president, Dada Joshua Ifeoluwa, thanked Aina for the reception and expressed the group’s commitment to working with KWEPA to promote sanitation and environmental protection.
Ifeoluwa said the donation formed part of the group’s community development efforts and its commitment to improving environmental sanitation in the state.
Aina also said KWEPA would intensify efforts to encourage residents to embrace voluntary environmental cleanliness and make it a lasting community practice.
