The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar has called on governments to subsidise expenses on the treatment of kidney disease.
This came following the rise of kidney disease cases to 20 million.
The respected traditional monarch told the Nigerian Association of Nephrology to look for remedy to the growing rate of the disease.
The Informant247 gathered that the president of the association, Professor Adanze Asinobi led other members of the association to the palace of the Sultan, where the traditional ruler submitted that most of the victims of kidney disease have poor background.
The association’s president said 20 million Nigerians were battling kidney diseases.
The health association also honoured the revered Islamic leader with the Fellowship of the National Association of Nephrology and also named him the patron of the association.
FONPAA visits Education Minister, Adamu over HND/Bsc dichotomy
The Forum of Nigeria Polytechnics Alumni Associations, FONPAA paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu over the HND/Bsc dichotomy.
The umbrella body housing all Polytechnics’ Alumni across the country, expressed interest in the ongoing HND/Bsc dichotomy bill, appealing to the Minister to make use of his good office to enable justice for the Polytechnic products in the country.
The Minister warmly received the leadership of the forum in his office in Abuja.
Mallam Adamu told the Forum that the Nigerian lawmakers had done their own part by ensuring that the bill was passed into law, adding that the bill only awaits the final assent of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Minister added that he will make it part of his priorities to see that the concluding part of the Bill is a success by ensuring that the president gives his final approval very soon.
The FONPAA appreciates the Minister for his kind and welcoming gesture, and his passion for justice to the bill which awaits Presidential confirmation.
At the meeting with the Minister were dignitaries such as the Chairman of FONPAA, the National President of the Federal Polytechnic Ede Alumni Association FPEAA, Mrs Balogun Adedoyin, the Immediate Past President FPEAA among others.
Also, the meeting had in attendance the FPEAA Financial Secretary, Engr Bldr Moses John Nwosu, Welfare Director of the FPEAA, Engr Bldr Moses John Nwosu.
The immediate past president of the FPEAA, Alhaji Bashir Shittu Olaleye was also at the meeting.
