Police declare war against criminals in Osun, Oyo
AIG Christy Ibiso Cookey, the newly mobilised Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 11 Command, Osogbo, has sent message of warning to criminal agents, and hoodlums in Osun and Oyo states to stay away from the two states immediately.
She sent this message of warning while having a crucial security meeting with the Commissioners of Police of Osun and Oyo States; CPs Faleye Sunday Olaleye and Adebowale Williams, in Osogbo on Friday.
The spokesperson of the Zone 11 police, Ayeni Benjamin, in a signed statement released on Friday, said that the law enforcement agency has concluded on tightening the security mechanism within States to make sure that the people of the public live peacefully.
In the press statement, Cookey, “warned all thugs, hoodlums and criminals that have just migrated to Oyo and Osun States to vacate the two states immediately, as the security structure has just been rejigged to seriously deal with anyone who wants to destroy or disturb the peaceful atmosphere being enjoyed in Osun and Oyo States respectively.”
Cookey gave an assurance that effective policing and mobilisation of modern security devices will be used to combat criminality and crime within the Zone.
“Moreso, both Osun and Oyo State Commands will be raising Special Technical Intelligence Response Unit in their respective state to deal with cultism and other vices,” the statement added.
Cookey has promised to make use of all available information in order to combat criminal tendencies in the state.
