The collapse of a warehouse under construction has killed one person in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.
It was gathered on Saturday that another person also sustained injury during the sad occurrence at the Soka area of Ibadan, Thursday night.
It was learnt that the building which collapsed was behind Halleluyah petrol station, Soka on Lagos/Ibadan expressway.
It was also gathered that the building collapsed on a Mosque and another building which triggered the death of one person.
A teenager who’s identified as Bolaji Babalola lost his life as a result of the collapse of the building.
Another person who sustained injury was one Segun Abajingin.
The incident has been brought to the awareness of the Sanyo police station in Ibadan.
Some living around the collapsed structure have confirmed the incident.
The neighbours have cried out to the relevant government stakeholders to come to their aid, saying it is very essential to avoid its reoccurrences.
They called on the relevant government stakeholders to assist them in putting an end to further reconstruction of buildings without the use of competent engineers and approval of the government.
Some other persons residing very close to the affected area among whom are Mr. Kunle Olasunkanmi, and Mr. Tiri Olaniyan made an allegations that the warehouse has partially collapsed time without number.
They also said the warehouse has not been given close monitoring, by an engineer or expert from the government agencies.
They further said that the warehouse’s owner has been the only one monitoring the construction since the beginning of the project.
