Police confirms death of woman as Abuja-Kaduna train collides with car in Abuja
The police command in Federal Capital Territory, FCT has confirmed the death of at least one person in connection with a rail/motor accident which occurred at Chikakore axis in the Kubwa Area council of the FCT, Abuja.
The spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, DSP Josephine Adeh, while confirming the tragic incident on Thursday, said police officers have been sent to the affected scene to conduct investigation into the scenario.
The spokesperson has also disclosed that a medical expert has confirmed the victim dead shortly after officers of the command were mobilised to the affected area for investigation.
The statement by the police reads: “The FCT Police Command is aware of the unfortunate incident of Rail/ motor fatal accident that happened at Chikakore axis in the Kubwa Area council of the FCT.
“Upon receipt of the information Crime scene investigators attached to the Byazin Divisional Police Headquarters drifted swiftly to the scene, took charge of the situation, where the victim was confirmed dead by medical practitioner on ground.
“Investigation has commenced by the Rail way division having jurisdiction over the track. Findings and safety tips already existing will be reiterated to ensure a non repeat of incident shortly”.
