Suspected armed members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) have reportedly attacked an Army patrol van in Aba, the commercial nerve of Abia State. Nigeria’s meteorological agency, NiMet, has predicted that in the next three days, heavy rainfall is expected over parts of Cross River, Kogi, Nasarawa, Niger, and the FCT. A man, Collins Okechukwu, was sentenced to life imprisonment by Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on Tuesday for raping and robbing a 25-year-old UNILAG student. Delivering judgement, Justice Abiola Soladoye, who characterized Mr Okechukwu as a “pathological liar,” declared that the prosecution proved the charges of rape and robbery against him beyond reasonable doubt.
