N400bn: We didn’t raid Tinubu’s home — EFCC clears rumour

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reacted to the speculation that it raided the residence of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Bola Tinubu.

The anti-graft agency explained that it did not raid the home of the former Governor of Lagos State.

This was revealed by the spokesperson of the anti-financial crime agency, Wilson Uwujaren, in a statement made available on Sunday in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

The spokesman of the EFCC described as false the claim that the agency raided the house of the presidential candidate of the ruling party.

“The attention of the EFCC has been drawn to a report circulating in the social media, claiming that operatives of the Commission raided the home of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, standard-bearer of APC, in the forthcoming presidential election and recovered a humongous sum of N400 billion.

“The Commission wishes to state that no such operation was carried out by the EFCC.

“The public is enjoined to disregard the report as fake news,” he said.
