A lecturer with the Kwara State University KWASU, Dr. Ajeigbe Issa has passed away in his sleep at his house in Ilorin, the capital of the state.
The university staff gave up the ghost on Monday April 24, 2023 and until his demise, was the Acting Director of Sports and the Head of the Department of Human Kinetics and Health Education of KWASU.
The sad development was confirmed in a statement released by the Registrar of the academic institution, Dr. Kikelomo Sallee.
It was revealed that the university don would be laid to rest today, Monday April 24.
Report also has it that funeral arrangement was already underway in Budo-Egba, Asa LGA, Kwara State.
Sallee said, “With a heavy heart, we announce the death of the Head of the Department of Human Kinetics and Health Education and Ag. Director of Sports of the Kwara State University, Dr. Ajeigbe Issa Yaqub.
“Dr. Ajeigbe died in his sleep.
“Janaza is at 10:00 am today April 24, 2023, in Budo-Egba, in the Asa LGA of Kwara State.
“As the University mourns this loss of a committed member of staff, we pray Allah forgives all his shortcomings and admits him into Jannat ul Firdaus.
“May Allah also console his family, friends and the University Community.”
300-level Plateau varsity student falls from building, dies
A 300-level Microbiology student at Plateau State University (PLASU), Moses Simon Gajok has died after falling from the top of a building which was under construction.
Report has it that the deceased student worked as a carpenter at the site, as a side hustle.
The 28 year old varsity student fell from the building while he was doing his work.
He would be buried on Tuesday April 25 at the residence of his family in Dahwol Loh Chak, Kuru, in the Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The incident was confirmed by the Students Union Government President, Comrade Peter Arin Kaze in a statement released on Friday April 21.
“I want to use this medium to condole with the family of late Mr. Moses Simon, Indeed PLASITES and the family have lost a hero and will forever miss you. May God almighty forgive you your sins. May the host of angels receive your soul. May his light be with you. And above all may your soul continue to rest in peace with the Lord. Amen. Plasites are still in shock and will miss you,” the statement read.
