FULL RESULTS: Ajani wins APC primary for Edu/Moro/Patigi Reps seat
Ajani Abiola Joshua has emerged winner of the All Progressives Congress primary election held on Saturday ahead of the 2027 general elections for the Edu/Moro/Patigi Federal Constituency House of Representatives seat.
Copies of results obtained across the three local government areas that make up the constituency showed that Ajani polled a total of 20,394 votes.
Ajani, a former bursar of Kwara State College of Health Technology, Offa, contested alongside Mohammed Baba Ibrahim, bursar of Kwara State Polytechnic and Abubakar Taoheed Bello, a former TESCOM chairman in the exercise conducted by the party nationwide for House of Representatives positions.
The APC on Saturday conducted its House of Representatives primary elections across the country ahead of the 2027 polls.
According to the results obtained from the three local government areas, in Patigi Local Government Area, Mohammed Baba Ibrahim scored 9,586 votes, Ajani Abiola Joshua polled 1,294 votes, while Abubakar Taoheed Bello secured 1,373 votes.

In Moro Local Government Area, Ajani Abiola Joshua recorded 18,873 votes, Mohammed Baba Ibrahim scored 52 votes, while Abubakar Taoheed Bello polled no votes.


In Edu Local Government Area, Abubakar Taoheed Bello secured 13,024 votes, Mohammed Baba Ibrahim scored 1,551 votes, while Ajani Abiola Joshua recorded 227 votes.

The cumulative results from the three local government areas showed Ajani leading with 20,394 votes, followed by Abubakar Taoheed Bello with 14,397 votes, while Mohammed Baba Ibrahim polled 11,189 votes.
However, the official announcement is yet to be made by the party as of the time of filing this report.
The outcome further strengthens Ajani’s bid to clinch the seat under the platform of the APC in the 2027 general election.
Recall that The Informant247 had earlier reported that the member representing Asa/Ilorin West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Muktar Tolani Shagaya, also emerged winner of the APC primary election held on Saturday ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Shagaya secured a total of 77,625 votes to defeat three other aspirants in the exercise.
His closest challenger, Yakub Amasa Yusuf, polled 6,344 votes, while Muhammed Kabir Olayinka scored 1,487 votes.
Another aspirant, Mopelola Bashir Abdulmalik, recorded 623 votes.
A total of 85,719 votes were cast in the primary election.
