In a recent communiqué, the Fulbe United for Peace, a Fulani socio-cultural organization, pledged to take action against criminals posing as Fulanis and perpetuating violence in certain regions of the country.

Leaders from Fulbe across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) gathered in Abuja, with the support of Arewa New Agenda (ANA), to discuss and strategize on fostering peace and stability in the nation.

The communique, signed by Ardo Aliyu Liman Bobboi, the National President of Fulbe, indicated that the organization aims to unite the Fulbe community by employing traditional methods deeply rooted in Fulbe tradition and culture, known as ‘Hombudu,’ to put an end to any criminal activities carried out under the guise of Fulani identity.

Furthermore, the organization plans to establish a strategic network in collaboration with relevant authorities to address the concerns of Fulbe youth nationwide.

They also expressed their commitment to reaching out to other interest groups to promote national forgiveness, reconciliation, and healing the wounds that have affected Nigeria.

Asserting their role as an ethnic and socio-cultural association capable of contributing to national development, Fulbe called on the government to engage with their leadership on policy matters relevant to their community.

The organization voiced its support for the federal government’s efforts to establish peace and ensure the safety of citizens and their property.

This move represents their determination to address the challenges posed by criminal elements among their ranks and work towards a peaceful and secure nation.
