Day 2: KSANG, Sakinah Extend Medical Outreach To Kwara North

The Kwara State Association of Nigeria in North America (KSANG) and Sakinah Medical Outreach in partnership with the Kwara state Government today held the second phase of the three-day free medical outreach in Tsaragi, Kwara state.

The medical team kicked off the programme with registration of beneficiaries, medical orientation, medical diagnosis, and dispensation of pharmaceuticals at the Tsaragi Primary Healthcare Centre, Kwara North.

Speaking during the medical outreach, the coordinator of the programme Elder Olaitan Oyin Zubair noted that the programme recorded a massive turnout of 752 beneficiaries at Ajase-ipo on Wednesday, adding that as of 1:00pm on Thursday there were over 300 beneficiaries on ground waiting for medical attention. He expressed optimism that before the day ran out the medical team would have covered over 800 beneficiaries.

Also speaking during the programme, the Makama of Tsaragi, Alhaji Attahiru Haruna said the project is a very laudable one considering the economic reality of the country whereby people cannot afford their medical bills.

The traditional leader extolled the organisation for finding their community worthy of humanitarian services.

One of the facilitators, Dr Durotoye Idayat Adenike said the medical outreach covered both medical and surgical diseases, admonishing beneficiaries to consider pre-wedding counselling and Genotype test in order to curb the prevalence of Sickle Cell Anemia as many Sickle Cell Anemia cases were recorded during the programme.
