Four persons have allegedly lost their lives following an attack launched by suspected armed bandits on Fapo Community in Lapai Local Government Area of Niger State.
It was gathered that eight persons sustained various degrees of injuries.
It was also gathered that 15 persons were abducted by the bandits in the attack which happened on Monday in the village.
It was gathered that the bandits invaded the village in large numbers on their motorcycles, shooting recklessly and creating fear in the minds of residents.
An eyewitness, Danlami Idris has expressed shock at the manner the gunmen invaded the village shooting sporadically, causing fear in the minds of the villagers and killing four persons.
He implored the government of the state and security personnel to play their roles in saving the lives and property of the people.
He said,” we are calling on the state government and security personnel to rise to the challenge to avoid future devastating attacks in the communities in the state”.
Meanwhile, the State spokesperson of the police, DSP Wasiu Abiodun has not returned calls put through to him as at press time.
