Ahmed Ololade aka Asake has broken Apple Music’s record as the first African album with the biggest opening day.
This was confirmed by the streaming platform in a recent statement saying, “Asake had a record-breaking weekend on Apple Music with the release of his debut album, ‘Mr. Money With The Vibe.’ Upon its release, the album broke the record for the biggest opening day for an African album in Apple Music history.”
The streaming platform further noted that the ‘Mr. Money With the Vibe’ album also broke the record for the biggest opening three days for an African album in Apple Music history.
Upon the album’s release, Asake launched nine songs to the Global Daily Top 100.
The album reportedly peaked at Number One on the Top Albums Chart in 31 different nations, including Nigeria, the United Kingdom, and Ireland.
Songs from also made it to the Daily Top 100 in 60 different nations, including 26 where they peaked at number 10, while other songs hit number one in 14 different nations.
