Three men on Friday appeared in court over alleged attempt to steal cow valued at N150, 000.
The three men were arraigned before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan over alleged attempt to steal cow valued at N150, 000.
25 year old Usman Abubakar, 25 year old Nura Yusuf and 28 year old Usman Ibrahim were charged by the police with theft and conspiracy.
Mr Philip Amusan, the prosecution counsel, informed the court that the defendants allegedly carried out the offence on November 4, around 12. 20 a.m, at Siro Igboho area, Ibadan.
The prosecution counsel said that the defendants attempted to dispossess one Malam Sheu Bello of his cow.
He added that the offence, was in contravention of the provisions of sections 516 and 509 of the Criminal laws of Oyo State, 2000.
When the matter was read to the defendants,
they, however, pleaded not guilty of the charge.
Mrs O. A. Akande, the Magistrate, granted the defendants the sum of N30, 000 plus one surety each in like sum.
She has adjourned the matter until January 18 for hearing.
