The Senate Committee on Ethics and Privilege has begun investigation on the allegations of job racketeering in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
Senator Ayo Akinyelure, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions revealed this to newsmen, Thursday at the National Assembly in Abuja, the country’s capital.
He added that the investigation came following a petition which accused Senator Godswill Akpabio, the former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs and management of the commission of failure to document the appointments of 7 employment seekers from Ondo State who rightly applied and present to them appointment letters to work in the commission.
The lawmaker, however, revealed that the Committee has communicated Umana Okon Umana, the incumbent Minister of Niger-Delta Affairs of any perceived misconduct and corruption allegations.
