Kwara State Government, after wide consultation, has declared that Muslim girls in missionary schools in the state can adopt hijab as part of the uniform. This directive came after about 10 mission schools were locked as part of proactive measures to forestall impending crisis over disagreement of some missionary schools to allow Muslim pupils to wear hijab in the schools. Lagos State Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat has lost his younger brother, Haroun, to COVID-19. According to TVC report, the late medical doctor, reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 before he eventually gave up. “It is with utmost sadness that I announce the passing of my younger Brother. Kwara State Government has won the 2019/2020 World Bank-supported State fiscal transparency, Accountability and Sustainability (SFTAS). The state was alloted $16.9m which is the highest ever achieved by the state since the initiative began in 2018. Secretary to the Katsina State Government, Mustapha Inuwa clarified the obnoxious claim that the state government paid ransom for the release of the 344 abducted students of Government Science Secondary School, Kankara.
