A 15-year-old Lotanna Azuokeke who had the highest score in the just concluded Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination UTME has got a juicy university scholarship.
The candidate hailed from Ọba in Idemmili South LGA of Anambra State.
He’s a product of Bishop Otubelu Juniorate, Trans Ekulu, Enugu State.
He reportedly scored 99 out 100 in Mathematics, and had an overall score of 337 points out of 400.
The spokesperson of the proprietor of the school, Chiwuike Uba in a statement revealed that the small boy applied for engineering at the prestigious institution, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN.
He said the boy had 99 in Mathematics, 86 in Physics, 64 in the English Language and 88 in Chemistry.
“Azụokeke broke record set by Chidera Obi who scored 329 marks to emerge overall best, five years ago,” he said.
“Report shows that Azuokeke applied to study electrical/electronic engineering at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN).
“The school recorded 100 per cent success in the last Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE); three students came out with 11As each.
“We are proud of the success we have attained so far. Our JAMB results are simply wonderful, our WASSCE and NECO results are not bad also.”
The boy has got a scholarship to study medicine at Godfrey Okoye University GOU Enugu State.
The Vice Chancellor of the university Rev. Fr. Christian Anieke made this revelation on Friday May 5th while gifting a car to a university student who was fortunate to be the VC of the school for one day.
