…says AbdulRazaq’s govt committed to completion of KWASU satellite campuses
Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Science and Technology in Kwara State, Barr. Senior Ibrahim Sulyman says the AbdulRazaq-led administration will complete projects abandoned by previous governments.
He stated that the era of allowing abandoned projects of past administrations to waste has passed as the projects were initiated for the people’s benefit.
Senior disclosed this during inspection tours to the two satellite campuses of the Kwara State University in Osi and Ilesha-Baruba.
The commissioner, who reiterated the commitment of the present administration to the completion of the projects, noted that the two campuses are vital for the smooth running of the University, stressing that abandoning such gigantic edifices would be tantamount to wasting public funds.
Speaking earlier, the representative of Lead Consultants, Architect Mohammed Jimoh Faworaja, who conducted the Commissioner round the facilities at the Osi campus stated that the project was at 48% completion.
Architect Faworaja appealed to the State Government to release funds so that the Contractors would return to the site to complete the projects without further delay.
He said, if completed, the institution would admit more students and also serve as an economic hub for the host communities, thereby improving their standards of living.
Also conducting the Commissioner round the facilities at Ilesha Baruba campus, the Messrs Unicontinental International Engineering Company Limited, represented by Engr Fatai O. Anafi, said that the school of Agricultural Sciences under construction, if completed, would serve as a food basket of the state in particular and the country at large.
He also appealed to the State Government to release funds to facilitate speedy completion of the projects without further delay.
