Yuletide: Ex-Kwara Speaker distributes cash gifts, other edibles to Christians, PDP members across 16 LGAs

The Speaker of the 8th Kwara State House of Assembly, Prof. Ali Ahmad, has flagged off distribution of cash gifts, chickens, turkeys, and other edibles to Christian association, PDP executives, and members of the party across the sixteen local government areas of the state.

This gesture, according to a statement on Tuesday by Steve Makinde, spokesperson for his Media Office, is in line with the former speaker’s commitments towards reenergising the PDP in the state and in enjoying a funfilled celebration in the spirit of birth of Jesus Christ and the new year.

Professor Ali Ahmad enjoined the leaders at all levels to put smiles on the faces of the people, especially the christain brethren, in order to rejuvenate and tackle the present economic challenges ahead of the new year.

In his speech, the former Speaker wished the Christians and Kwara citizens and beyond a happy christmas and new year, saying the festive season should serve as a period to share love, kindness, and reflect on the past struggles and what the future holds for the citizenry.

“Professor Ali preaches divine guidance for leaders across all stratas, adding that only true leadership can engender peace and prosperity for Kwara state,” said the statement.

Appreciating the good gesture, a beneficiary, Mallam Ajisafe Suleiman Owolabi (Offa LGA) thanked the ex-lawmaker for always identifying with party members across party lines during the festive period.

Another beneficiary, Mr. Oluwole Emmanuel Adeyeye (Oyun LGA) expressed his heartfelt gratitutudes to proffessor Ali, who he described “as a marketable personality and true lover of the PDP in the state, praying for God’s guidance and strength towards his future aspirations.”

“Mrs. Ojeyemi Lawrence spoke highly of the academia-turned-politician, describing him as a true servant leader whose philanthropy remains timely at all times.

“Other beneficiaries include principal officials and members of Christian Association of Nigeria, Kwara State Chapter; PDP Chairmen and Members from across the Sixteen LGAs; Members of the PDP State Working Committee; and other Christain faithfuls in the state,” the statement concluded.
