We’ll take legal actions against environmental offenders: Kwara govt
The Kwara State Government has threatened to, henceforth, take legal actions against environmental offenders in the state.
The State Commissioner for Environment, Mrs. Remilekun Banigbe disclosed this while on an inspection tour to parts of the Ilorin metropolis.
Banigbe, who was accompanied by her counterpart in Works and Transport Ministry, Engineer Rotimi Iliasu, explained that the exercise was aimed at sensitising the people on the need for clean environments and evacuation of wastes in drainages for free flow of water and not to endanger people’s lives and property.
While addressing the people at Awolowo and Pipeline axis of Tanke, the Commissioners charged members of the public to maintain a hygienic environment for healthy living and to avoid epidemics in the state.
