During a Senate screening session, ministerial nominee Balarabe Abbas Lawal experienced a sudden health issue, causing concern among those present.
Senate President Godswil Akpabio quickly called for water and sugar to help revive the nominee, exclaiming, “Water, water! Can you give him sugar and water? Can someone bring water and sugar? Please, call Dr. Wale!”
In the midst of the situation, Akpabio requested that the cameramen leave the chamber while senators rushed to assist the nominee.
Abbas Lawal from Kaduna State was undergoing the screening process alongside other nominees, Jamila Bio Ibrahim from Kwara State and Mr. Ayodele Olawande from Ondo State.
At the time of this report, the nominee’s condition remained unknown as he had been taken to the hospital for further evaluation.
