A prestigious Parliamentary Summit in honour of the Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial district, Mallam Saliu Mustapha (Turaki of Ilorin), has been organised by the University of Ilorin Students’ Union Senate Council.
It was gatherd that the event, titled
“the significance of legislation and the crucial role of legislators in shaping the nation’s destiny”, was held at the university Auditorium.
Dr. Adebola Bakare, the Head of the Political Science department at the university, who was the guest lecturer, elaborated on the importance of effective legislation and the pivotal role played by lawmakers in nation-building.
Meanwhile, Mallam Saliu Mustapha, the honoree of the event, expressed his gratitude to the student body for recognizing his contributions and deeming him worthy of such an honor, while pledging unwavering support to the students and conveyed his best wishes for their academic pursuits. He also advised them to strive for excellence in their educational journeys.
On his part, the speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Saliu Danladi, ably represented by Hon Rukayat Shittu, emphasized on the importance of ambition, while advising the young audience not to limit themselves in pursuing their aspirations.
The event was also witnessed by the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, where he stressed on the significance of inter-state collaboration.
The panellists of the discussions include; Mr Oluwatoyin Luqman Bolakale, CEO of Satcom Media Consults, Hon Fafoluyi Yinka, former SA New Media to the Kwara Governor, Hon Abdulateef Ibrahim, Former SA Communication to the Kwara Governor, Barr Anifowoshe Titilope, Founder of Eagle Foundation, Mr Maxwell, Founder of the Drive, while it was moderated by Mr. Alausa Isa Sanni, a distinguished public affairs analyst, ensuring an engaging and informative session for the attendees.
The Parliamentary Summit at the University of Ilorin proved to be an enlightening and empowering event, fostering a sense of motivation and dedication among the students.
