Saliu Mustapha meets ASKOMP, shares his vision for Kwara Central

Mallam Saliu Mustapha, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial Candidate for Kwara Central in the 2023 general elections, has made promise to employ an all inclusive representation that will be of great benefits to the youth, women, widows and other strata of the society, if elected.

The Turaki of Ilorin made this revelation on Monday at a Media Parley with Association of Kwara Online Media Practitioners (ASKOMP) which took place at his Ilorin residence.

Mustapha said he desires to represent people of Kwara Central Senatorial district so as to uplift their values and pay his due to the society.

According to the Ilorin East born politician: “I am thinking of how best to serve my people and help the downtrodden in the society. Islamic injunction encourage us to give back to the needy and put smile on people’s faces. I believe political office would give me opportunity to impact more lives positively. It will help me leverage on my network to better the lots of my constituents.

“I will be doing things differently to the benefit of ALL across the four local government areas in Kwara Central Senatorial district. I will use legislation to address challenges facing our people and Nigeria as a whole.”

The Turaki has revealed that the APC Senatorial Primary election for Kwara Central was a free, fair and credible one.

He added that his victory at the poll has attracted many political actors to the APC.

He has commended the contribution and input of Senator Ibrahim Oloriegbe who lost during the Primaries.

He added that he would step up quality representation, when elected.

Mustapha revealed that Senator Oloriegbe, has done well among the Senators across the country but added that he (Mustapha) would do things differently to grow the welfare and well being of the citizenry.

“I won’t promise what we cannot do. I will use my network, experience, knowledge and understanding of national politics to bring goodies to Kwara Central in terms of projects facilitation and sponsorship of Impactful bills.

He thanked his Online Media Practitioners for their contributions and craved for better partnership ahead of 2023 presidential campaigns.

While reacting to bill sponsorship, Saliu Mustapha said he will foster and harness development in mining, especially in Kwara State.

He revealed that mining is the fastest way of enabling sustainable development to the society, adding that mining is a means of jobs creation, infrastructural development, growing of small businesses and building of new settlements.

Turaki of Ilorin has appreciated President Muhammadu Buhari for his overwhelming achievements and contributions to infrastructural development amidst security and economic challenges.

Earlier, ASKOMP Chairman, Salihu Shola Taofeek has affirmed that the association is a professional one without political connection, adding that its members usually practise in accordance with professional ethics of journalism.
