Ismail Idris, was on Thursday remanded in Abolongo Correctional centre in Ibadan over alleged defilement of a three year old girl.
The 18 year old Idris was remanded on the order of a Chief Magistrates’ Court in Iyaganku, Ibadan over alleged defilement of a three year old girl.
Idris who lives in Agede area of Oyo State was charged by the police with defilement.
Mrs Patricia Adetuyibi, the Magistrate, rejected the plea of Idris.
She has directed that the case file should be moved to the Director of Public Prosecutions for due legal advice.
Adetuyibi has adjourned the matter until February 9, 2023 for mention.
Insp Folake Ewe, the Prosecution Counsel, informed the court that Idris carried out the offence on November 4 at noon at his residence.
Ewe said that Idris deceived the girl to his residence and has carnal knowledge of her.
She said the offence, was in contravention of the provisions of Section 34 of the Oyo State Child Right’s Law 2006.
