Teachers’ Forum laments poor state of education sector, urges AbdulRazaq to take drastic action

The Emirate Teachers Forum has lamented the poor state of the education sector in Kwara state.

This was revealed in a press statement obtained by this medium.

The forum appreciated nthe governor for his positive action towards governance and further urged him to give piority to the education sector

The statement reads, “we must also commend the good work of the NUT Chairman in person of Comrade Toyin Soliu, We must commend the effort of the Governor for the fact that within this
short period he has been able to touch vital areas like Health, Roads, Water and paying of counterpart fund to UBEC,”

“For these and other reasons we are very much optimistic that this
government meant well for Kwarans. That is why we are bringing the plight of Kwara State teachers to his attention,”

They said the governor should give prompt attention to the plight of retired teachers, learning environment which according to the forum is not conducive in most schools in Kwara, the training and retraining for teachers, Backlog of salary arrears of three months and giving annual leave bonus and workers’ level promotions should be revisited

They further said, “Moreover we expect His Excellency to speak on the issue of N18,000 minimum wage as well as negotiation going on N30,000 which is part of his campaign promises.”

They conclusively seek for divine guidance and wisdom for him to be able to pilot the affairs of this state to the promise land.
