…seeks partnership with Dangote
The Kwara state Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has revealed that revealed that monthly salaries takes up 75% of the state’s statutory allocation and 100% of local government allocation.
AbdulRazaq who made this disclosure during a visit to the billionaire business mogul, Alhaji Aliko Dangote in a bid to seek Public-private partnership to diversify the economy of the state.
The governor who has seen enterprise as the path way to economic growth arrived at the meeting at the appointed time of 6am.
The governor who lament about the percentage of the state allocation gulped by salaries said there is need for kwara state government to seriously seek investors and investments to create jobs and wealth for the teeming population.
During the visit, Aliko Dangote also confirmed his interest in sugar production in Kwara state.
Dangote has already acquired over 16,000 hectares out of the 50,000 hectares that he needs in Patigi local government.
AbdulRazaq gave an assurance that
Kwara state government will work with Dangote Groups to achieve the minimum benchmark as the state has the capacity to produce 100% of Nigeria’s sugar consumption with quality partnership that will reduce unemployment in the state, stating that Kwara under his leadership remains the new bride of foresighted investors.
