The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, has joined others in the declaration of Friday April 21, 2023 as Eid-il-Fitr day.
The revered Islamic leader on Thursday April 20, 2023 acknowledged and announced the sighting of the crescent for the new month of Shawwal in Sokoto, Nigeria.
As earlier reported by The Informant247, the crescent for the month of Shawwal 1444 has been sighted in Tumair and Sudair, Saudi Arabia.
Based on this development, tomorrow Friday April 21, 2023 is Eid-Il-Fitr.
The Informant247 understands that Eid-Il-Fitr is a celebration to mark the end of the month of Ramadan and the beginning of Shawaal.
The Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola on Wednesday April 19, 2023 on behalf of the Federal Government declared Friday April 21, 2023 and Monday April 24, 2023 as public holidays for the people to celebrate 2023 Eid-Il-Fitri.
