Manchester United have crashed out of the Europa League after losing 2-5 to Sevilla on aggregate in the quarterfinal match.
Sevilla thrashed the Red devils 3-0 at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium on Thursday in the reverse fixture of the game.
The match had ended draw in the first leg where the Red devils threw away a two goal advantage.
It was a perfect night for Sevilla who took a perfect opportunity and sealed up their spot in the last four in grand style.
Just like the first leg where own goals from Malacial and Maguire saw the Sevilla getting a draw, two of the goals conceded by Manchester United on Thursday again were result of errors.
While Harry Maguire’s early error presented Youssef En-Nesyri with Sevilla’s seventh-minute opener, Loic Bade’s header further pushed the homeside to a safe side of the game before David De Gea’s howler gifted En-Nesyri his second goal of the game.
The result is yet again another reality check on Manchester United’s consistency under Erik Ten Hag.
Meanwhile, Sevilla’s emphatic victory saw United bow out of Europe to Spanish opposition for the sixth successive time.
Sevilla, who are six-time winners are now through to a semi-final against Juventus, who beat Sporting 2-1 in their quarter-final.
