350 Nigerian citizens who were stranded in Sudan landed at Aswan airport in Egypt on Wednesday May 3rd.
This was made known by the spokesperson for the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, AbdulRahman Balogun.
The spokesperson of the Commission said the Air Peace will evacuate two hundred and seventy four (274) passengers while the Nigeria Air Force C130 will carry eighty (80) passengers.
The Informant247 earlier reported that the popular Nigerian airline, Air Peace owned by Chief Allen Onyeama has offered to evacuate stranded Nigerians in Sudan without collecting money.
The Chief Executive Officer CEO of the airline said the stranded Nigerians in the North East African country need assistance.
He said the stranded Nigerians in Sudan should be conveyed to a nearby country where Air Peace would eventually evacuate them.
The spokesperson of the Commission,
Balogun said, “80 passengers would be airlifted by NAF C130 and Air Peace would airlift 274 passengers.
“Checking-in has commenced following normal airport protocols.
“Boarding is ongoing.”
