Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has reimposed Okada ban in some local governments of the state.
The governor gave the directive while communicating all DPOs and Area Commanders across the State at the Lagos House, Ikeja.
He said that other security agencies will key into the enforcement, planned to take effect from June 1, 2022.
The whole of Ikeja, Surulere, Eti-Osa, Lagos Mainland, Lagos Island and Apapa were the affected local government areas.
Recall that a mob of commercial okada riders last week launched an attack on and killed a sound engineer with Legacy360 Band, Sunday David Imoh, at Lekki over an argument on N100 fare.
Two other members of the band including a saxophonist, Francis Olatunji, and the keyboardist, Philip Balogun were also attacked and injured
The actions of the okada riders have however received condemnation and the people have also told the government to curb the excesses of the okada riders.
