In order to control and reduce the demand for hard drugs in Kwara State, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Wednesday trained members of the Kwara State Drugs Control Committee (KSDCC) on ways to combat drug abuse.
Speaking at the training session, the Deputy Commander, Narcotics, Mr. Friday Oluwi emphasised on the necessity of the agency to be more proactive in order to reduce the use of drugs without prescription to the barest minimum in the State.
“The Committee should support all programmes on drugs control activities and always report and update the State Governor through the Honourable Commissioner for Health”, Mr. Oluwi said.
Also speaking, the Chairperson of KSDCC, Pharmacist Barakat Olarewaju commended participants at the training session for their unrelenting humanitarian services to reform lives in the society.
Olarewaju charged members to be ready for more services in a period like this, most importantly now that the number of drugs users kept increasing in the State.
