Millions of tributes have continued to pour on Brazilian football legend, Pele who died last Thursday at the age of 82.
Guardiola on Pele
“On behalf of Man City, our condolences to his family and friends. Football is football because of these people. Before him number 10 was just a number, after him everyone wants to be number 10.”
I was not born when he was playing. It’s like a good movie, the legacy that we’re still talking about him, about a good movie, a good book, because he was so good.
“Pele, Maradona, Cruyff, Messi, Beckenbauer, Cristiano Ronaldo, these players will be eternal. They have done many things for many years, these types of players make our business, our job, a better place.
“What he produced for the feeling for the people. We have seen the World Cup, one team can produce for a country, it’s incredible. It’s not another event can produce this emotion. This part of exceptional players can produce the emotion for the players.
Conte on Pele
The Italian heaped praise on Pele after his passing.
He said: “We are talking about one of the most important players in the world. We’re talking about the story of football. I was lucky to know him, honestly I’m really sad for his death. Also, Pele was a person that was important for football, one of the most popular, maybe the most popular player in football.
“But his behaviour, he was always a person that lived without arrogance. He always showed to be a humble person, despite, in my opinion, he was with Maradona one of the best in the world.”
Xavi’s condolences
The Barcelona manager said: “I think he marked an entire generation. Everyone wanted to be Pele. Like Maradona, like Messi, they are players who have made history and they become legends when they go.I extend my condolences to his entire family.”

The legendary football icon will be buried on Tuesday.
