Police officers have attacked ENDSARS protesters in Lagos.
The Nigeria Police Force has fired tear gas to disassemble EndSARS protesters who currently are assembled at the Lekki Toll Gate to carry out the 2nd memorial procession for those who were allegedly shot at by security personnel in October 2020 at the toll gate.
A television footage on Arise TV’s morning show revealed the manner the police fired tear gas into the thin air to disassemble the crowd of protesters.
Oba Adeboye who works with the TV station as an on-site journalist, could be seen being harassed by operatives of the force mobilized from the Lagos State Police Command.
Meanwhile, a police man had earlier revealed plans to apprehend whoever stops at the Lekki tollgate during the #EndSARS procession.
Report has it that the police officer who spoke as an anonymous have said “as long as they do not stop, we shouldn’t have a problem, because the agreement is that they don’t stop.
“But the moment anybody stops that person will be picked up and locked up in the van.”
The Informant247 observes that EndSARS was a nationwide series of mass agitators and protests against harassment and brutality of the police.
The now disbanded SARS was notorious for brutalising and abusing Nigerian citizens.
