Buhari appoints new Director for Jos University Teaching Hospital

Dr Pokop Bupwatda has been appointed as the new Chief Medical Director (CMD) of Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH).

The appointment was made by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Deputy Director, Media and Public Relations Unit, Federal Ministry of Health, Mr Ahmadu Chindaya, made this revelation via a statement issued on Thursday.

Chindaya revealed that the appointment of Bupwatda was announced in a signed letter signed by Dr Osagie Ehanire, the Minister of Health.

The letter also stated that the appointment will take effect from Aug. 30, 2022 and for a tenure of four years.

While giving the letter to the appointee, the minister advised him to work hard to add value to the facility for the improvement of the economy and that the appointment was a justification of the confidence the president has in him.

“The health sector is a key sector of the economy, you should strive to improve on the health facility in your domain, take more responsibility to improve the economy and the condition of the teaching hospital,’’ Ehanire said.

The new CMD expressed his message of appreciation to the president for considering him deserving and also gave him an assurance that he would not let the nation down.
