Police arrest man for kidnapping teenage boys in Lagos
The Police Command in Lagos State, has put a 51-year-old Austin Kanu into custody over alleged kidnap of four teenage boys.
The spokesperson of the police in the state, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, in s statement on Tuesday said police officers of Surulere Division apprehended Kanu.
The victims – 16 year old Toheeb, 16 year old Isaac, 16 year old Chukwuma and 18 year old Idowu – were in October seen in an isolated location within the National Stadium, Surulere.
They were discovered by the Chief Security Officer of the stadium who then alarmed the police.
The law enforcement agency said preliminary investigation has revealed that Kanu deceived the victims to Surulere from Agege and Ogba.
“Their parents when contacted confirmed that the boys had been missing since the early hours of October 29, 2022”, Hundeyin noted.
The suspect would be dragged to court at the conclusion of the police investigation.
Abiodun Alabi, who’s the Commissioner of Police, has sent message of advice to residents to be careful and make complaints about suspicious happenings to security operatives.
