Alex Pereira came from behind to defeat Israel Adesanya in their UFC 281 showdown to further establish his dominance over the latter in both kickboxing and mixed martial arts.

The bouts which was one of the many fights at the Madison Square Garden in New York City on Saturday had gathered momentum in the build up due to the rivalry and the seeming dominance of Pereira over Israel.

The duo have met twice before in 2016 and 2017 respectively with the Brazilian getting the best out of the fight against the Nigerian-New Zealander fighter at Kickboxing level.

Adesanya had earlier looked solid and maintained a strong moment in the fight, before Pereira again proved he is the ‘nemesis’ of the ‘stylebender’ and stole the show to eventually snatch a win via a TKO(Total knockout).

Israel pocketed the show in first, third and fourth rounds losing only the second round to his opponents who would later rise up to slide him knocks that will engrave his dethronement as the middleweight champions.

Alex Pereira has added 25+ pounds in weight only hours before his first UFC title shot of his career, and such proved enough for him as he secured his seventh win from last eight fights in the category. Israel however had 23 wins in his 25 outings in the organisation
