Oyabambi condoles Onijagbo, wife over death of Olori’s mother

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State, Otunba Adetunji Oyabambi, has expressed condolences to the Onijagbo of Ijagbo, Oba Safadeen Buhari Babalola, Ilufemiloye, and his wife, Olori Wosilat Adenike Buhari, following the death of the Olori’s mother, Alhaja Salamat Abike Sanusi.

Alhaja Sanusi died on July 7, 2026.

Oyabambi conveyed his sympathies in a statement personally signed and made available to journalists, describing the death of the family matriarch as a painful and irreparable loss.

The PDP stalwart said he received the news of the deceased’s passing with sadness, noting that the loss of a mother is a painful experience that leaves an irreplaceable vacuum in every family.

“I received with profound sadness the news of the passing of Alhaja Salamat Abike Sanusi, the beloved mother of Her Royal Highness, Olori Wosilat Adenike Buhari, wife of His Royal Majesty, the Onijagbo of Ijagbo, Oba Safadeen Buhari Babalola, Ilufemiloye,” the statement read.

“On behalf of my family and associates, I extend my heartfelt condolences to His Royal Majesty, the Olori, the Sanusi and Buhari families, as well as the entire people of Ijagbo over this painful loss.

“Although death is an inevitable end for every mortal, the loss of a loving mother is always difficult to bear. My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this moment of grief.”

Oyabambi prayed for the repose of the deceased’s soul, asking Almighty Allah to forgive her shortcomings and grant her Aljanah Firdaus.

He also prayed that God would grant the royal family and everyone affected by the loss the strength, comfort and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, while urging them to take solace in the exemplary life and enduring legacy of the deceased.
