- NPFL: Lobi Stars to lay off 20 Players in mid-season break.
The ongoing efforts by the management of Lobi Stars FC of Makurdi to salvage the club have taken another dimension.
The Informant247 Nigeria News recalls that a few weeks ago the club sacked Eddy Dombraye, its Technical Adviser a few weeks ago in response to their poor run of form.
The latest news coming out from the camp of the Benue State-owned club is that some players will have their jersey withdrawn as the league heads into a 14-day mid-season break.
According to NAN, the Club vice Chairman, Tama Aondofa revealed that the team will be rejigged and will regain its competitive edge in the second round of the league.
“About 15 to 20 players have been lined and penciled down to move on. They will be let off and the equivalent number who are doing well in the league will join almost immediately”. said Aondofa
Lobi Stars lost 5-3 to Rangers in their last league game. The team currently occupies 19th position on the log with 19 points from 19 games.
