Frank Lampard’s second coming as Chelsea caretaker manager started in disappointing fashion with a 1-0 defeat to Wolves on Saturday.
Matheus Nunes’ stunning volley was all Wolves needed to compound the woes of the London boys and secure a four points clear of the relegation zone.
Lampard, who was sacked by the club in January 2021, returned to the Blues where he will remain for the rest of the season.
The result leaves many with questions of what actually the problem of the London side despite their huge investment in bringing players to the bridge.
Chelsea, again like most of the games this season rarely looked like scoring throughout the game with their cutting edge firing on the lowest ebb.
Apart from the fact that the blues have not found the net in their last three league games, the season continues to fall apart for them as they remain 11th on the log and 17 points off the top four.
Lampard’s next assignment is Champions league quarter-final clash against Real Madrid on Wednesday at Santiago Bernabeu
