In a positive turn of events, the Anti-doping test conducted by CAF on football sensations Victor Osimhen, Moses Simon, and William Troost Ekong has returned negative results, clearing them of any prohibited substance.
The reigning African player of the year, Victor Osimhen, showcased exceptional stamina and strength during Nigeria’s recent 1-0 victory over Guinea-Bissau on January 22.
As a standard procedure, random doping tests were administered due to the outstanding energy levels displayed by Osimhen and other key players.
Contrary to initial reports suggesting that CAF subjected Osimhen to doping tests after Nigeria’s 2-0 win over Cameroon on January 27, the tests actually took place following the Super Eagles’ game against Guinea-Bissau.
It’s important to note that players like Moses Simon and William Troost-Ekong, pivotal in Nigeria’s progress in the 2023 AFCON, also underwent doping tests alongside Osimhen.
These random doping tests are a common practice in global football tournaments, especially for players exhibiting extraordinary strength.
The results, indicating no presence of prohibited substances, have cleared Osimhen and his teammates, reinforcing their integrity and compliance with anti-doping regulations.
