Stanley Nwabali conspicuously missed out on the full tanning session on Monday as the rest of his teammates held their first training after their Saturday’s clash.
Nwabali who was seen training alone as he limps was stretched out during Nigeria’s Round of 16 tie against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Abidjan.
The Chippa United of South Africa shot-stopper collided with Cameroon winger, Georges Nkoudou, during the encounter and was eventually replaced by Francis Uzoho.
Speaking to journalists over the weekend, Nwabali said: “I don’t know [if I would be fit for the next game]. I will still come back.”
Multiple reports say the Eagles first choice goalkeeper however underwent a test on Monday to ascertain the severity of the injury and the results is being awaited.
