No payment for Taraba varsity lecturers who joined ASUU strike – Ishaku

Taraba state governor, Darius Ishaku on Sunday said he would not pay Taraba university lecturers who joined the lingering strike of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

Ishaku stated this in Jalingo during the combined service of TAKAN/ECWA 3rd quarter service, saying Taraba varsity lecturers have no reason to join ASSU strike.

He noted that the lecturers must face the consequences of keeping students at home for over seven months.

“We the big wings are accused of sending our children abroad for schooling and when we asked our lecturers to go back to class so that children of the common people can equally obtain the education they refused,” he noted.

He added that his administration from 2015 to date has done exceedingly well, maintaining that he had laid a foundation for any government that would come after his tenure.

He charged Christians to be united, I’lladding that his administration ran an inclusive government that paved the way for all and sundry regardless of region and ethnic national.

He thanked the Christian community in Taraba state for contributing to his government from 2015 to date.
