PNigeria-born British Boxer, Lawrence Okolie will be gunning to retain his WBO world cruiserweight title on Saturday when he faces David Light in a tough bout.
Okolie will be returning to the ring for the first time in over a year to defend his title against his mandatory challenger.
The bout is billed for AO Arena in Manchester this Saturday.
While Lawrence Okolie records include 18-0 among which he has 14 knockouts, his challenger also boasts of 20-0 which includes 12 knockouts.
This will be Okolie’s third defence of his WBO World Cruiserweight Title after winning it back in March 2021.
Okolie is now being promoted by Ben Shalom and Boxxer having left Eddie Hearn, Anthony Joshua’s promoter and Matchroom Boxing.
He will be looking for an emphatic victory this weekend against his undefeated New Zealand native counterpart.
Lawrence is a British-Nigerian professional boxer who has held the WBO cruiserweight title since 2021.
At regional level, he held the Commonwealth cruiserweight title from 2018 to 2019, and the British and European cruiserweight titles separately in 2019.
