The highly respected economist has now joined the long list of admirer of the Atlas Lions of Morroco due to their achievement at the ongoing World Cup in Qatar.
Iweala, who is the current Director General of World Trade Centre in a tweet on Sunday congratulated the team for their exploits and wished them the best ahead.
“Congratulations to Morocco first African and first Arab team in World Cup semis! An amazing feat! No matter what history has been and is being made. Go Morocco. Best of luck.” the Nigeria former Minister of Economy said.
Morroco’s impressive run at the world cup has seen them defeating Belgium at their final group stage game, Spain in the last 16 and Portugal in the quarter final.
They became the first African country to reach the semi final since World Cup debuted in 1930.
Morocco will be up against France in their semi final clash as they set sights on the silverware.
