In what is seen as a recognition of his determination and commitment to promoting and developing Amputee Football in Nigeria and Africa at large, the Immortal cosmetics art limited has gifted the National captain of the Nigeria amputee football team, Sarafadeen Olalekan Oyeleke a hyper-realistic prosthetic leg.
The hyper-realistic prosthetic leg was presented by the company CEO, John Amanam to Olalekan at Akwa Ibom on Saturday.
Regarded as a groundbreaking gesture, the artificial leg will serve as a physical aid to Olalekan as the Nigerian amputee team prepares for the Africa Amputee Nations Cup in April.
Immortal cosmetics art limited is reputed to be the first hyper-realistic prosthetic company in Nigeria and Africa at large.
Sarafadeen appreciated the company for their gesture, noting that it will spur him to do more in his bid to further propagate the potentials of the amputee football in the country and also aid his advocacy for the persons living with disablities (PLWD).
“I am very happy about this and I sincerely thank the company for finding me worthy of this opportunity. This will definitely aid all my activities as I seek to continue to inspire PLWDs of an able life in disability.
Also a board member representing North Central Nigeria on the board of the National Amputee Football Federation, Sarafadeen, a graduate of Computer Engineering from Federal Polytechnic Offa is also the coordinator of the Amputee Football in Kwara State.
Olalekan was part of the Nigerian amputee team to many competitions amongst which are the 2008 Amputee Nations Cup in Liberia, 2011 edition in Ghana, 2013 edition in Kenya, and was also part of the team to the 2018 Amputee World Cup in Mexico
In 2019, as the captain, he led the team to their first ever final in 2019 Amputee Nations Cup in Angola where the team won a silver medal also led them to the 2021 Amputee Nations Cup in Tanzania.
At the home front, he led the Kwara Amputee team to win gold in the first National Para Games in Abuja in 2022 , won bronze in the 2023 editions of the game and also won gold for team north central zone at the first ever National Zonal amputee football conference championship in 2023.
Olalekan has also had stints at Turkish Amputee Super League where he played for wIstanbul Spor Kulubu in 2016 and Bursa Spor Kulubu in 2017/2018,helping the team gain promotion from the second division to the Super League
He is also the founder of Ofordis foundation where he caters for the need of PLWD
