Nigeria customs warns against fake recruitment scam
The Nigerian Customs Service has warned against fake recruitment circulating online.
The forged announcements, which were stamped “FAKE” in the official post, listed specific screening dates in early June 2026 and venues across various zones.
They also contained requirements for the purported exercise, such as dress codes and identification.
The NCS urged applicants and the general public to ignore the messages and rely solely on information from its official communication channels.
This latest denial comes amid prolonged public interest and frustration over the 2024/2025 NCS recruitment process, which has seen multiple stages, including application, CBT, and profile updates.
Earlier in May 2026, the Service had opened a portal for shortlisted candidates to complete final screening updates ahead of interviews and physical screening, with a deadline of May 10.
Applicants have repeatedly been warned that the entire recruitment exercise is free, and no payments should be made to any individual or group for any stage.
The NCS has consistently cautioned against scammers and fake announcements that exploit the high number of applicants eager for updates on the delayed process.
