Adewale Giwa, the Senior Pastor of Awaiting The Second Coming of Christ Ministry, has condemned the redesigning of the new naira notes.
The pastor, has referred to the move as “brainless”, and that the notes “look fake and ugly”.
The Informant247 observes that President Muhammadu Buhari, on Wednesday, made open the redesigned currency notes by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
The cleric stated that a country is identified by the quality of its bank notes.
“The new N500 is just like the old N200 in color while the new N500 is the same as N10 in color.
“I am not yet convinced that the new naira notes can increase the value of our currency.
“Can they reduce the prices of garri, rice or beans?”, his statement asked.
Giwa has described the move as another failed project by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
He added that the ruling party had placed the country “in a state of confusion and unprecedented hardship” since 2015.
The cleric has said that no one acquires a thing with lies and deceit “and expects to succeed”.
